Through this region passed one of the arteries of the Great Silk Road – the route through the Pamir knot. You will have the opportunity to visit all trekking zones of Pamirs, meeting different ethnic groups, and familiarize with their interesting life styles. Day 1: Arrival in Dushanbe
. Arrival in Dushanbe (800m), the capital of Tajikistan with about 800,000 inhabitants and the most modern city of the country.
Day 2: Departure to the Pamirs
Departure to the Pamirs via Tawildara and Khaburabad pass (3252m) or via Kulyab region. When we pass over Khaburabad to Kalaikhum the scenery and the people change again. The people here are Pamiris with their own languages. There are seven different languages used in Tajik Pamirs. Kalaikhum (1260m) is located on the Panj River, a major tributary of the famous Amu Darya (Oxus) River. Accommodation in a private guesthouse. B/L/D.
Day 3: Kalaikhum to Khorog and Bachor
Kalaikhum to Khorog (2110) and to Bachor (3332) village. Khorog is the administrative centre of the Pamir region, dramatically set deep in the valley at the confluence of the Panj and Ghunt rivers and boxed in by the mountain peaks We will arrive in Khorog, have lunch and continue driving to Ghunt valley through the Ghunt river. Arrival in Bachor village, Resting. Accommodation in home stay. B/L/D.
Day 4: Trek (start): Bachor to Qarghizshabar
Start of the Trek from Bachor to Qarghizshabar (name of the pasture). (Luggage on animal-drawn transport). Laying tents. Overnight in tents.
Day 5: Trek: Qarghizshabar to Chapdarkul lake
Trekking from Qarghizshabar to Chapdarkul lake (4530m). In this day we will enjoy the majestic lake of Chapadarkul with possibility to see yaks around. Laying tents and accommodation. Overnight in tents.
Day 6: Trek: Chapdarkul lake to Uchkul
Trekking from Chapdarkul lake to Uchkul (4314m) (means three Lakes). In this day we will enjoy the three lakes which are all called Uchkul. We will pass through the pastures and will be meeting the Sheperds, one is Zaurbek is doing this job for 25 years. He comes to the pasture with his family. He will make us tea and will feed us with yogurt that make in the pasture. Accommodation and overnight in tents.
Day 7: Trek: Uchkul to Miyonail
Trekking from Uchkul through the pass to Miyonail (name of the pasture). This day we will go through the pass with glacier and enjoy the Glacier with the mountains that is fascinating. Laying tents. Accommodation in tents.
Day 8: Trek (end): Miyonail to Bardara
Trekking from Miyonail to Bardara (2810) village. End of the trek. Arival in Bardara at the evening. Resting. Overnight in Homestay.
Day 9: Driving Bardara towards Kalai Khumb
This day, we will take a nice drive from Bardara towards Kalai Khumb. There should be an opportunity to see some of the sights that we may have missed on the way down and, if possible, we will aim to stay in one of the villages outside of Kalai Khumb to help us to appreciate some of the culture of the inhabitants of the Pamir region. The village is so close to the Afghan border that we can wave to the Afghani villagers on the other side of the river. Homestay. B/L/D.
Day 10: Back to Dushanbe
The final day of our trip takes us back to Dushanbe to stay in a luxury Hotel. B/L/D.
